Artist History Problems with uploads mean most of the good stuff isn't on this site yet.DJ Magpie is the singer/songwriter behind the Southampton band 'magpie' (see mp3.com/magpie). First started doing this in 1998 after leaving Bournemouth band Kangarooster. Why DJ Magpie? Well, a magpie steals bits from other birds nests. This seems to be the essence of sampling. All this stuff should not be taken too seriously, these aren't really songs, but just show the types of sonic ideas that can be created by mixing live instruments and sampling.
