    Artist History
Coming together in late 1999, Displaced formed to become one of Western New York's newest and most original metel/alternative/hardcore bands, being able to destroy an audience with punishing half-time breakdowns and to still be able to combine this with unbelievable posture and rhythm when melodies's come into play. With the use of two vocalists whos voices, roll with each other and fit together to make an overpowering force that no person can not take notice to. Keeping a busy work ethic and continuing to play as many live shows as possible, up and down the east coast, Displaced has gathered a large following of dedicated fans, who as the band call's them "The Displaced Kids of America". Vocalist Matt Rickard explained how'd the name came about, "The whole meaning of what we are and what we stand for is pretty much exactly that, all 5 of us in this band are pretty much those kids that got put down because of the music we listened to, or the way we dressed or even the people we choose to hang out with. That's what were trying to get across to these kids is to be individuals and not to worry about what people are gonna think of you, fuck all the closed minded, judgmental people out there. In a way we're all a little out of place, somehow someway we just don't fit in, so fuck it, just let loose and be yourself." In June of 2000, Displaced entered into Watchmen Studios with producer Doug White to work on the bands first demo entitled "Delete the Oppression". Throughout the rest of 2000 and well into 2001 and one, Displaced had sold well over 750 demo's in their local area and up and down the east coast. Now preparing to go back into the studio to record the bands first independent full length, yet untitled as of now, with a planned 11 tracks including the 4 songs from the demo and including songs like, "Six Degrees", "When it all comes down", "Something from Nothing", and "Done and Gone". The full length as of now is looking to be released in late June 2001.

    Press Reviews
"After hearing the crushing and destrucive 4 song disc Delete the Oppression, I couldn't stop thinking that the demo was basically just a plain warning to the metal world. Lead singer Steve Wayland overpowers 99% of the world's vocalist with his "one of a kind" screams and a simply sweet singing voice, mixed with the Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta type roars from second vocalist Matt Rickard. Displaced stands out as one of 2000's top metal newcomers." Dan Wright---Foil Magazine
