Artist History
"Fueled by tidal waves of discontent and general malaise with most popular music, Avalauncher strives to challenge the listener while simultaneously pinning them to the mat with a maelstrom of ear-splitting guitar riffage and more mixed-meter tempo changes than RUSH playing a John Cage Tribute (well, not really, but almost). If you see the word 'challenge' and think of the word 'annoy', that's fine. You're an idiot. Listening to Avalauncher is like drinking two pots of coffee and chasing after a mountain goat...in the mountains. Reviewers have used the phrase, 'Avalauncher kills you with swords, not clubs.' Avalauncher would like to maintain the club imagery, but picture the clubs with big sharp swords sticking out of them. The words Nomeansno, Refused, Tool, and Foo Fighters are sometimes muttered during someone's first Avalaunching, but you be the judge." Check out the review of their self-titled CD in Punk Planet #40. |
