Artist History
Arrogant hails from Bountiful, Utah and although they have been unwillingly tagged as a Ska band, they are actually much more. Combining influences ranging from Jazz to Nerd Rock to Straight Pop, they have created a style which their fans lovingly refer to as "Pansy-Core." Their music has been compared to that of Weezer, The Impossibles and even, "Pavement...with horns." In the Summer of 1998, made up of founders John Post (guitar/vocals) and Bucky Cash (drums/vocals), the band began writing as a "power duo." Later adding Bassist Brian Jones, they became regulars at a small coffee shop venue called the Backstreet Café (R.I.P.) Picking up horn players Erik Ohlsen (tenor saxophone) and Greg Johnson (trombone) Arrogant ruled the small but growing Bountiful music scene. Rounding off their line up with Elliot Fenech (alto sax) and replacing Jones with Devin Cash (bass) and Ohlsen with Dave Matney (Tenor/Baritone Sax) Arrogant has grown musically and in popularity. Thanks for checking them out. |
