Artist History
It all began with something out of place......It ended in a retrograde distortion of realitythat redefined musical coherency. They called it...THRED The industrial movement is a genre that combines noise, distortion, and sonic violence into a postmodern maelstrom of aggresive cyber metal. All bets are off musically and philosophically. The music challenges you, it makes you think. The sellout power ballad is definately not in this movement's vocabulary. Oklahoma circa 1991, Industrial music was by far a household name in this part of the coutry, and in fact most of the country. After making a name for himself locally as a guitar player for in various bands, Trueland White-Crow decided it was time for a change...in both himself and the local music scene. This idea was met with less enthusiasm than a bear shitting in the woods. It seems no one wanted to hear Industrial, much less be a part of it. And of course everybody knew punk was dead!! WRONG!!! Switch to 1993...after 2 years of writting and perfecting, like a modern day Frankenstein, Trueland created a fusion of metal grit and punk angst, bringing to life a frantic, brutal sound for the post-apocolyptic world. Time to form a band to play his music live. The search wasn't easy, but thanks to the recent success of Ministry and NIN, people were finally willing to listen. Suddenly industrial music was cool. Thred's trek across Oklahoma has included opening spots with German legends Die Krupps,Sister Machinegun (of Mortal Combat fame.),and a co-headlining show with Dallas, Texas natives and underground favorites Puncture, as well as several headlining shows of their own. Thred now have their sites set on the rest of the world !!! Thred is a band that must be seen live to be fully appreciated. They are, by NO means, a bar band! Far from it! In fact they've been known on several occasions to make themselves, as well as the audience, bleed. At one time, Thred was banned from several local clubs simply by reputation alone! Thred is not a band to be missed and is what the next genaration of Industrial music can hope to be! |

Press Reviews
review of REDFEST 2000 - "What a production! Most colorful and vivid costumes of the festival! This band really got the crowd into it, allowing a guest to “go at it”, accompanied by their satire and pumping riffs. Awesome performance, complete with plenty of spit to go around." |
