Artist History THE LIVID is a high-energy four piece alternative rock band from Mississauga, Ontario. The band was formed in January 1997, when four high school freshmen decided to jam to some cover tunes in drummer Chris Bowes' basement. These four - Chris Bowes, Philip Hartell, Jeremy Herandez and Chris Schembri, wrote their first few songs and after winning several competitions and spending some time at a local studio, The Livid independently released their debut album, King of the Castle, in October 2000. The Livid returned to the studio to record more tracks after high school in 2001. The tracks turned out to be a success but other things didn't go as planned. Some of the members of the band were more interested in completing school than leading a life of rock and roll. The band decided to make use of the songs that were recorded and put out their second independently released album. So Fear of Fading was released in the summer of 2002. Over the span of six months, The Livid was destined to lose all of its founding members with the exception of guitar player and songwriter Chris Schembri. Three months later, Chris met bassist Christian Kennerney, who he began sharing writing ideas with. Meanwhile, Justin Humes, at that time a frontman in a pop group, heard through the grapevine that The Livid was holding auditions for a new lead singer. He used his contacts to get in touch with what was left of the band, and managed to set up an audition just a couple of days away. Both Chris and Christian were blown away and so Justin was in. Adam Benning, former drummer of other bands, heard through another auditioning singer that The Livid was also in search of a drummer. In much the same way as Justin, he contacted the band's management and set up an audition. The audition smoked. The Livid was reformed.
