Allan Brown from Mistake Theory:...the Tones' style is an eclectic mixture of a number of dance styles including house, dub and drum'n'bass with a leaning toward the latter. Some of their music is tinged with a jazz flavour - not suprising, as these guys aren't just DJs - they share some impressive musicianship as well... From the hard-edged tracks like Not Washed Up and my favourite Kinda Felt through to the 'clubby', understated Summertime, and the jungle/dub Why, this is an impressive debut. If you a re into drum'n'bass especially, give this a spin. Highly Recommended. . . . . . Loius from Secret Archives of The Vatican: Methane Jungle is a brave name for a track, leading to so many obvious put downs. The track takes NY style jazz gui tar and lays it over some laid back, chillin, drum and bass. The track is really well orchestrated, the guitars run around one another really well and the bass complements them really well. I'd definitely put this as a track for the top. Great to hear rea lly live, intricate bass and guitar playing on a jungle track. Towards the end of the track there's a really dark synth trying to cut through with just builds the tension between the two styles without clashing. This track is a must listen to if you're in to interesting and complex music. It's just a track that deserves some recognition
