Artist History
Rudy Kardos began vocalizing at Turtle Creek Pa. high school with "The Four Dukes". The group recorded three demos: "Turn Back", "The Mocking Bird", and "King of Broken Hearts".The group members were Rudy Kardos, Lou Rico, Chuck {Gator} Victoria, Bill Fritz. Turtle Creek High was also the home of "The Vogues", well known recording artists in th 50's and 60's. In 1985, Rudy joined a Pittsburgh R&B group, "The Laurels", singing bass. He continued to record with them until 1990.During this time the "Laurels" recorded 8 songs on the RAM label. The group members were, Dick Muse, Richie Merritt, Lonnie Brown, Butch Nixon, Rudy Kardos. The group also did live concerts and night club R&B shows around the Pittsburgh.Pa. area. In 1992, Rudy returned to recording as a singer,song writer and single artist, "Rudy and the Pubs". The Pubs duets were with Phyliss Jones and Sam Harris and the background vocals were provided by Steve Senus, Lamont Sherrell, Butch Nixon, Jeff King, Harry Hansen, and Walt Brown. Rudy recorded 2 songs on the LMS label, and 8 songs on the CARINA-V label. Rudy wrote 8 of the ten songs recorded under RUDY and the Pubs. |
