Artist History
On July 3, 2000, Matt Jobin and Tina Noyes arrived in California, after a 3 day drive from Toronto, Canada. Leaving behind their band-mate Jakob, and also their previous musical identity of "io", the two musicians set up their studio in a small town near San Francisco. Here, Tina has begun her career as a researcher in genetics, and Matt will embark upon a PhD program. However, academics were not the only motivation for this geographical and identity change. As process23, Tina and Matt will be shifting their style of music towards a more experimental and electronic sound, influenced by their Toronto sessions with ambient musician Jakob Thiesen, with whom process23 will continue collaborating. In their previous incarnation as io, Tina and Matt have played clubs as disparate as the Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto, Canada) and the Brunswick Hotel (London, Canada). By moving to the San Francisco area, process23 looks forward to participating in this city's vibrant and innovative music scene. |
