Press Reviews
"The four song EP, Of Beauty and Decay, contributes stunning music to the underground gothic scene. "The Haunting" features beautifully chiming guitars with the right mix of keyboards, bass, and live drums. The next track "To Die For" has great upbeat power followed by a more emotional, "Fade to Grey", which is suggestive of Carved in Sand era Mission U.K. The EP concludes with a song that would sound great on a gothic rock compilation. I look forward to a full length release from this Portland Oregon based ensemble. ~Octavia (Outburn Magazine) "Excellent, excellent band"! ~Propaganda Magazine "I enjoyed your CD even in my noisy office"! ~ David (Energy Records) "My co-host Brian and I find Nocturne simply delicious - smashing really"! ~ Micheal (WRAS 88.5 FM) "Nocturne avoids being any bands sound alike, and its nice to see (and hear) goth bands with a sense of where this music comes from without being slavish imatators. Neo-Punks take notice..." ~Where Angels Fear to Tread Magazine |
