Artist description
No longer alt-country. Trends tend to corrupt
and breed crap. I now say I am making "North American
Music". I did not say "Americana". Damn. I ain't like that.
This is music for you to make out to; not in the
den but in the cellar. |

Press Reviews
Review of Gone Missing from Carter Moss of the
Illinois Entertainer:
Singer-songwriter Matt Janeski alternates between a folk-rock acoustic sound, and more of a new country approach on his latest LP Gone Missing. His lyrics are certainly thought-provoking and his storytelling is interesting, but he may need to vary his sound more if he wants to sustain the listener's interest. The lone acoustic guitar coupled with Matt's voice are often not enough to carry an entire song. He experimented with his sound on a few songs by adding in some background vocals and some other instruments (like a harmonica), all of which were welcome additions. So if he can do more of this, as well as work on his vocal tone and range, he's definitely headed in the right direction.
