Artist History
Formed in 1998, Friction Farm has been through a few line up changes before arriving at its current, perfect, form. The group released its first CD "Galileo's Horse" in 1999 to critical acclaim and commercial support. Friction Farm signed with manager John Tovar, known for bringing South Florida acts Marilyn Manson and The Mavericks to national attention. The release of their CD and the strength of their live performances has given Friction Farm the opportunity to perform at high profile festivals such as West Palm Beach's SunFest, and to open for national acts. Their second recording "Live at the Legendary L7" was originally recorded as a gift to loyal fans, but the band now sells this CD at its live shows. Rough and spontaneous in contrast to its studio release, the CD captures the energy of the band. Friction Farm is working on it third recording project, a couple of singles to be followed by a full length CD in January 2001. Not bad for a band that's only two years old, but typical of this prolific, energetic group. |
