"Very haunting...nice" Tom Zito (Chairman Garageband.com)
Nigel Bryant established carbon in 1998. First release was the cassette-only "Brace" EP in April 1999 which drew interest from Deceptive Records - the home of Elastica amongst others.
March 2000 saw the release of "Your Health In The Workplace" CD, another 3 track EP - Pete Morgan at Noisebox Records (superlative Norwich independent), "I really like the sound/songs/feel and all of it...Top stuff."
www.cmj.com/as - a well-respected USA new music journal made carbon featured artist for January/February 2001. "Your Pleasure, My Pain" was the featured track, resulting in 2000+ downloads during the first 2 months of 2001.
The debut album "This Is Not Your City" was completed in April 2001 and is an entirely self-managed/financed project. It is currently available from Rough Trade stores and has recently been receiving European airplay - see www.popscene.nl |
