Artist description
From his humble beginnings as the bassist in a little known Salt Lake City-based band, Sun Regime to tireless supplier of low-end support for several Seattle bands and involvement with various studio projects (Johnny Webelo, Mummery, Red Eye Special, Tiger Zane, Chris & Carla of the Walkabouts, Gary Heffern, Electrochakra...), Ben has stepped out from behind the lead singer into the stage lights to turn on the world with his original music. Most of these songs were written on the 1956 Martin guitar that his father passed down and range from the absurd ditty to more poignant songs of heartbreak and true love realized. Enjoy the music, and keep an eye out for this fresh talent emerging, amoeba-like, onto the Seattle scene. |

Artist History
Ben was enrolled in violin lessons at age three. Disliking practice, he preferred to pawn off this tedious chore onto his "imaginary" friend, Gus the Ghost, so he could romp and play like the normal kids. Around age 12 his parents purchased a baby-grand, which he fumbled with for a few years. A few years were spent learning how to play guitar. The bassist for a friend's high-school band had gone on vacation for a few-weeks giving him the opportunity to pick up the bass-guitar. He was well-suited to the "behind-the-spotlight" demeanor of that instrument and fell hopelessly in love. This is still his favorite instrument even though he likes to play them all. |
