Artist History
The band started as a chance for guitar player Mike Rock to play a bunch of songs he had written. As a long time member of the local music scene, most of mike's friends were musicians, therefore giving him the opportunity to pick and choose some incredible band members. |

Press Reviews
Teddy DuChamp's Army by Brian Spekis "23:00 hours and corporal teddy duchamp stands guard... " Teddy DuChamp's Army, that is. The band's debut EP features five powerful multi-rock genre tunes, each leaving you wanting to listen again and again--and why shouldn't you? with audio clips from the movie stand by me scattered throughout, the EP features a pittsburgh indie-rock all-star lineup headed by guitarist and local scenester Mike Rock, For this release, Rock recruited the catchy sinus congested vocals of Creta Bourzia's Jason Jouver along with second guitarist Stephen McMillen of irwin, Ex-Shale's Todd Ladner on bass of the great eastern, and powerful drummer Brian Garbark of jumbo. The first track shows that drummer garbark will remain technical despite the song's punk rock vibe. Jouver's Page Hamilton-esque melodies on the chorus will definately have you humming this tune all day while Garbark sprinkles hi-hat magic throughout the verse. the second track, another pop punk offering, comes in with rock and McMillen playing off each other with hooky punk guitar octave melodies. Does Jason Jouver miss being in Jumbo? Maybe--it sounds that way in the third track, as he shows that he still knows how to wail like ex-Jumbo band mate Neil with Ladner and Garbark keeping a strong and steady rhythm section pulsating Throughout this two minutes and twenty-three seconds of indie metal mayhem. Garbark drives the toms like a jackhammer into the start of the fourth track until Rock and McMillen finally crack into the concrete with more catchy punk guitar riffs. The only downside to this track is that there's a girl singing along who, in my opinion, could have did at least a few nice vocal harmonies here and there, but instead, sings at a higher octave opposite the main vocals throughout the entire cut. Disappointing? no! Jouver comes back with the closing track to save the day. Discussing stereotypical statuses in everyday rock 'n' roll life, Jouver vocally drives this one home to wrap up the album. I think everyone needs to check this release out now while homemade CD-R copies are still being made and sold by the band--calling all soldiers!-Brian Spekis |
