Here, amid the gilding and the cut-glass, the latest products of Edison and Columbia were relayed through rubber stethoscopes to the ears of the multitude at the price of a few coppers. ‘Pontecorvo’ begs the privilege of welcoming you to the very last of these palaces of sound. What is more, he is prepared to waive the charge - this being an honest acknowledgement of the fact that his stock is just a little out of date. To be plain, EVERY ITEM ON THIS PAGE IS RECORDED DIRECTLY FROM AN ORIGINAL PHONOGRAPH CYLINDER. Some of these date from about 1915 - and they are the newest! Others were already half-forgotten when Victoria was Queen and McKinley was President. And yet here they are, after a century or more, ready to entertain you once again.
