Artist History
Nikos Apostolidis grew up in Piraeus in the 1930s and 1940s, where and when the Rembetic style blossomed. Now in his seventies, Nikos plays the music known as the Greek Blues as authentically as anyone. Andrew Carras learned his first Rembetica songs from his uncle, Nikos Apostolidis. The pair recorded these and other songs in a matter of hours one afternoon--with no rehearsal overdubs, and without having seen one another for three years. |
