CYBER INTERVIEW OF NICHELLE ======================AP:Hi Nichelle, please tell everybody who you are and what you do.NC: My name is Nichelle and I am an up an coming Soul Artist!AP:Great, so how did you come up with the idea of attempting to reach the stars?NC:AP:Now, Nichelle?, What pops in your mind when I say, Rhythm and Blues?NC:A drum sitting in a dark room, with one drum stick laying across it, a mike stand, and a bass sitting upright.AP:Ok, explain what is R & B to you?, what is soul?AP:Ok Nichelle, what did you do before getting involved on a mainstream level in the music business?NC: I worked at a 9 to 5 . . .excuse me ther are no more 9 to 5's more 6 to 6 and if ya lucky you get a lunch in.AP:Ok, what kind of title did you have?NC:AP:Tell us why Anita Baker, Eryka Badu, Angela Winbush, Phyllis Hyman and Rachelle Ferrell are your role models and what qualities within them do you think you possess?NC: They are to me what Real Soul is. . .Don't get me wrong I like Hip-Hop but it's real trendy . . .I like stuff you can listen to later and never get tired of it. They call it old school when Soul gets old. . .They don't call it at all when Hip-Hop trendy gets old. Whoever influences you, will eventually come out of your pores. And in my case vocals. It's there and you hear it without trying to . . . .. That's soul . . . .It's spiritual.AP:Great answer AP:Alright, tell us please more about your involvement with the Rosa Jackson Youth Choir at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and do they have a website?NC:No. That's my Neighborhood church. Too Deep to explain. I get full wind I think about the members of that youth choir and what all we did together to touch peoples lives in the community and as well as ourselves. . . . .. God smiled on us and we had a large mirror and reflected it back on all who heard us.AP:Interesting AP:What college or colleges have you attended and what were your majors?NC: I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, In. I majored in Graphic Arts! I loved to draw. Haven't done it in awhile though.AP:Graphic Arts, huh ?, far call from a singer, well, I guess not, a singer is an artist..lol AP:Tell us more about the Black Voices of Inspiration at Purdue University .NC: Another reflexion of God's smile. Just a continuation of spreading joy and giving thanks and remebering who's really in control.AP:Ok..god's gonna be doin alot of smilin soon if you keep persistent NC:AP:What made you get involved in writing music? instead of just singing others writings?NC:I don't know it just happened in college, my sophomore year. I wrote my first song "What is Love?" guess I was feeling a little depressed and it came out in a song.AP:Most song are about personal things like relationships and hardships and inspiration.NC:AP:If you were in control of the music industry, what would you do to change it, meaning what do you think needs to be changed and how would you go about doing it?NC:The things I think need to change are people getting in because of talent and not because she got big T#ts and a large A## and who ya know and what's selling at the time. Change is good. I don't have an idea on how to change it because you can't change it, Satan was the angel of music so he will always have the upperhand down here to some degree. Jesus is the only one who can change this! AP:They say, If something ain't workin..Change your approach.AP:Tell us please about Producer Willie Lee, Tody Welford, Howard Hewett, Rodney Jenkins, Steven Burks, Vaughn Halyard and your involvement with them.NC: First and foremost, I never worked with Howard Hewett, Tody Welford played bass for him when he was with the group Shalemar. Willie Lee "Junei", made my first professional demo to a song named "Hold ON"which got us a billboard award.I got another Billboard award with Tody on the song "What Turns U ON" and "Yaweh".These guys are all from my home town Gary! I love using neighborhood talent.AP:Ok..Isn't Yaweh a biblical term?..hmmm, wonder how a white dude found that out..lol NC:AP:Now the man you are doing work with now, James Chameleon White III, what has he done to help you in the business?NC: Jamie, that's what I call him, had the same hunger I did to get into the buisness.I saw him at a dance show that I used to perform on "Studio 9.2.5." He is an old High school mate of mine. But we really didn't hang together in High School. Just hi and bye in the Halls. Now we have what I consider a musical marriage. We don't always agree with each others moves but we keep the tracks coming non-stop. He's very talented. He can produced a track as hard as Dre' and then go to a Sade cut. He's good.AP:Funny how things happen to others..Dre came to a party of mine one time NC:AP:Are you still involved with Entertainment Lawyer, Tillie Malnak?NC:No she retired. But she was the first to notice our talent. She gave us more confidence that we needed! Thanks Tillie.AP:Ok AP:What is "Hold On" AND "What turns you on" about?NC:Hold on is about a girl who's in love with a guy who doesn't feel the same about her, but she hopes one day he will, so she's Holding on!What turns you on is self explanitory! AP:Ok AP:Name 5 awards you have won from ASCAP and describe a little about each one NC: AP:AP:Tell us how Nichelle Productions came about and it's goal NC:Nichelle Productions! is my own publishing company that I came up with so the lables don't try to take all my money! You gotta own some publishing people. . .that's bread and butter on the table cut and dry . . .be about the business!AP:So what kinds of things do you publish?, or is kinda like a front/decoy for the govt?..lol NC:AP:What can you describe to us about your latest album-Millenaire ?NC: Millenaire is french for Millennium. I wanted it in french because my name is french . . .or so I'm told. It was just a breaking out into the new year and decade for us!AP:I'm part Italian and my last name is french NC:AP:Have you ever had a coach or promoter, manager, do you have an agent?NC:Nope! All raw talent baby! No coach. Can't afford em. If they are willing to work for and reasonable % that would be cool. But these contracts are crazy!AP:I hear ya.seen some whacked out contracts from girls..a manager/agent usually gets 10-20%, depending on the size of the job.NC:AP:Tell us about your hobbies, the things you like to do NC: I work out!~ Gotta stay in shape and try to stay healthy!AP:Anything else?NC:AP:Tell us the kinds of food you like, what ice cream do you like?NC: I love me some chicken and shrimp and fish! I try too stay away from the red meat. I love ice cream from dairy cream not in the store. My mom says that aint nothin but some ice milk . ..whatever it is I love it!AP:Cool AP:Tell us what kinds of clothes do you like to wear?NC:I'm not real picky with clothes unless it's a special occassion or something then I like to go all out! the finest if I can afford it because I rarely dress up!AP:Ok, sounds fair AP:Do you have a bio of yourself?, height/weight/eyes/hair/shoe size/measurements/dress size..?NC: No not really. Too lazy. That's when a manager would have to come in. I can't think of everything.AP:Ok, I guess we can build you a bio/profile later AP:What are some of your goals, Nichelle?NC: To win a couple of grammy's and touch some lives in a postive way, make 'em think a little bit! An be financially secure and most important, pleasing in God's site!AP:Great, now you got a plan, now gotta find ways of how to reach them goals NC:AP:Do you have a boyfriend or are you married?NC: I'm seeing someone now. I think he's the one. He's so sweet and giving and loving. Hey Ed, how you doing love!!!!!!AP:Hi there Mr Ed..Looks like this pretty lady loves ya AP:When I first saw your picture, I said she almost looks like Whitney Houston without the curls NC: Get Out! I've never heard that one before. They usually always focus on the eyes! How big they are and say I look like Diana Ross and some lately have said Donna Summer. When I wore my hair short it was Anita Baker. . .Remember what I said about it coming out of your pores!? .AP:LOL..Yeah, a little Diana Ross..as a matter of fact, an uncle of mine 30 years ago had an offer to be a spanish translator for her, but he turned it down for some reason..guess some people aren't cut for being on the road..And just saw a Donna Summer pbs special last night..she cut her hair, loved them curls but she can still groove without a flinch. NC:AP:Do you drink alcohol/wine ?, if you do what kinds are your favorite?NC: I drink Coolers! I love Bartels and James lemonade! Hard Liqour Knocks me right out! I sleep like a baby! I stick to coolers!AP:That's good..just don't become an alcoholic like many people in the entertainment business..I think they do because they can't handle the pressure, pain, long hours, competition, etc.NC:AP:Where were you born and if you moved, why did you feel you needed to move?NC:I was born and raised in Gary,Indiana. Haven't moved yet but debating it!AP:I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada 29 years..lol NC:AP:If you were to model, what types of modeling would you do and what are your limits?NC:I'd do whatever category they think I fit, which would probally be print! I'm too short for that runway modeling. I'd probally go far enough. It all depends on what is presented to me and if it was tasteful.AP:Ok, Print is most lucrative and most of the available work is in either l.a. or florida or new york NC:AP:What's your favorite perfume?NC: Cool Water for Woman!AP:Ok, maybe they should have named it "Cool Water for Cool women"..lol NC:AP:What's your favorite make up?NC: Iman! (Can I get paid for these plugs?) smile AP:Soon enough..hopefully..no promises, but it will come some day..I think you have the talent for it if you don't get down and keep your chin and chest up and sing like the birds of heaven.NC:AP:What else do you know about the music business that would be useful to anybody ele?NC:Don't listen to A&R's. They aren't really who you need to get your music to. They Just tell you we aren't looking for your type music ..like Robots! I wonder if they really are?AP:Ok, what are A&R's for those that don't know, and please elaborate NC:AP:What advice do you have for somebody who wants to get into the music industry?NC:It's hard and it's gonna cost ya! So don't quit your day or night job till ya get in!AP:Good advice, but would you explain a little more please?NC:AP:What do you enjoy most about singing/writing and why?NC:It's a release for me! It's who I am. I can be the other me!AP:A release from what?NC:AP:Do you have another job or do you do this full time?NC:I wish I did this full-time. People think I do, but yes I have a job. AP:Ok, and what is your current title at that job?NC:AP:Ever tried singing in front of a live cam audience?NC: Live Cam . . .Man technology is really going. Nope never did that but that sounds like fun. AP:I intend to coach more people into performing live on live cam as if you were to be in a live stage performing in a showroom. You can charge anything you want..maybe 30, 40 or 50.00 to start and break in for a few months to see if it works out..you can set your camcorder or cam near the computer or use an extension cable and position it on a stage or wherever and sing baby, sing.I'll help set you up on that too if you want.NC:AP:Do you have your own website and server?NC:http://www.Nichelle.com that will take you to all my site eventually!AP:Ok and who did the webmaster work and artwork?..I like the design of the black and gold too.NC:AP:When do you mostly work?, morning, afternoon, or night?NC:Day and a little of night. Let's say all day long! Too Long! (smile)AP:Ok AP:Are you a left brain person or a right brain person?NC:A little of both . . .but my brother is the one with all the brains! Greg you go baby!AP:Ok, a right brained person is the creative you..it also controls the left side of your body AP:What's your favorite colors?NC:Black.AP:ok, and why do you pick black as your favorite?..what does the color black represent to you?NC:AP:What qualities in your life would you like to improve on?NC:Spiritual AP:Ok, so everything else is pretty much fine?..Gotta list ways of how you will reach your spiritual goal..gotta get detailed too, and set a time period NC:AP:Do you have an exercise plan?NC:Yep. 20 min on the tread. the weights.
