Artist description
I want to explore my reality. My music is the conduit for this process. I am interested in pushing the sonic boundaries of pop music and myself. I have been developing my sound for the past several years by challenging myself alone in my writing and in collaboration with various producers. Every note and every line is a new, personal discovery as my sound continues to evolve. In my songs, I first and foremost tell a story. Every song is rooted in the personal tone of my story. Whether it's finally feeling comfortable in my own skin in HERE I COME or admitting I try but I can't do everything alone in PROTECTION or questioning my place in this world in RISING, I simply make music that reflects my life. When I started working on this album, I wanted it to be my own personal mix tape, my soundtrack. Throughout my life, music has been the driving force through which I define all things or the one thing that defines the unknown and makes it okay. When I feel sad, when I feel happy, when I want to dance, when I feel vulnerable, when I feel truly free. So in the end all I want is this music, and I all I want to give is this music to you. I hope it provokes you to question, to search, to move......take it in and make it a part of your soul, your fire. I guess by listening to my mix tape you can find out for yourself and start to understand. I hope that you pop my album into your turntable, walkman, car stereo, eight track, or your iPod and that when you hear my music, you find yourself in it.
