Artist History
"HEY buddy, can you spare a dime?" -- a subway interrupts the music again. Three figures laugh it up as they decide what the next song is. It's a new place for these troubadours of the underground. One they haven't seen before. Generally used to the trappings of stages and studios, our friends now make music with what they can, to project the sound into it's spin of reverb for the entertainment of commuters and rats. The life of these buskers in a new town.I think it was Joe Strummer, when asked about Mick Jones' departure from The Clash, said, "It's about the kids." I still don't know what he was talking about, he was probably wasted out of his mind spending his "...Casbah" money. This is the philosophy behind The New Town Buskers; you know, where we say things that should mean something, but in hind sight it doesn't really mean a thing. It was good thing at the time. Harry, Thom & Steve have studied popular music for a long time and pretty much agree that this is the philosophy behind the best of it. No calculations, no equations, no pretensions, just a few guys getting together and throwing what's on their minds out to the unsuspecting public. Come on down, hear some songs, forget about those stupid things you have to do for a few minutes. Enjoy The New Town Buskers. |
