Beauty School Dropout is a NYC-based band who combine pop craftmanship, sublime grooves and thick vocal tracks to create music with a retro sensibility and a modern edge. The band's core members are Nunzio Signore and Dave Johnson.Nunzio and Dave have been playing and creating music together for about eight years, including three years together as members of Bo Diddley's band as well as playing and recording with scores of NYC singer/songwriters. Beauty School Dropout perform regularly in the NYC area and just returned from a two-week stint in Italy. |

Artist History
Dave Johnson has been active on the New York club/session scene since moving to NYC in 1990.Some of his credits include touring/recording with Special EFX, Gloria Gaynor, Bo Diddley, Johnnie Johnson, Screaming Headless Torsos, Melba Moore and former JVC saxman Mark Johnson.He is currently in seclusion attempting to configure his new home studio and only leaves the house to procure foodstuffs and walk the dog.Originally from the city of brotherly love, Nunzio Signore is one funky gun-slinger.If Jimmy Page and Wah-Wah Watson had a baby, this would be the result. His touring credits include Samantha Fox, Taylor Dayne, Bo Diddley and Angela Bofil, and he has recorded with Will Smith, Will Downing, El DeBarge and Tina Turner, among others. For the last two years, Nunzio has been the guitarist for R&B soulstress Kelly Price. |
