Artist description
Alternately quirky and profound, or sinful and divine, or cosmic and calculating but always heartfelt and intense. Lygia Ferra is a captivating new talent with great songs that beg to be heard over and again. Her moody, expressive, wide-ranging voice inhabits diverse worlds, flowing in "dreamy mysterious volition" over a fresh weave of musical styles. The result is an organic and deeply grooving mix with a timeless yet modern edge. |

Notable gigs have included a duet with Jerry Garcia; recordings with Santana, Bernie Worell, and Paris; numerous children's music tracks for Music for Little People; and a variety of commercial-radio and movie soundtrack productions, including vocalese and singing in five different languages. Lygia was one of 20 finalists (out of 800 submissions) at the 1999 San Francisco Lilith Fair Talent Search contest |
