    Artist History
Based out of Winnipeg, Canada, HV started out in 1998 as a power trio cracking the walls in their parents’ basement. Joe, Alan & Mark jammed for several months practicing covers ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Green Day as well as writing several tunes of their own. Their first gig was at the “All Ages Band Competition”, where, after winning several rounds, they placed second overall out of 60 bands. People were in shock as Alan, at the age of 10, was the youngest ever to perform at this event. Since then, HV has performed at many of Winnipeg’s clubs and bars. They have played at festivals such as Corefest and The Pan Am Games, and were finalists in other local band competitions like the “Search for Ra” at the Pyramid. They have performed on “The Big Breakfast”, a popular television show on The A Channel, and on “The Water Cooler”, an afternoon radio talk show on CJOB. HV has also been featured in local newspaper articles. They now have a regular Thursday night gig at the King’s Head Pub in downtown Winnipeg. In spring of 99, HV completed their first CD, “Caught In The Storm”. The project was recorded in Joe’s basement studio. It was produced and funded entirely by the band. Most of their CD’s have been sold after gigs but the band is working on the e-commerce portion of their web site to sell their music over the internet. Ready for their next project, HV began scoping out producers and recording studios. They were delighted when they hooked up with Juno Award winning producer, Brandon Friesen. Enter Paul “The B-Man” Bussoli, brother in-law to Joe and veteran Winnipeg blues singer / harpist. His incredibly dynamic style and wit adds that perfect edge and cranks the voltage of this super group way past high. The family four continue to astound people wherever they go, their talent is unbelievable. With the first four songs from their next CD completed, High Voltage is fully prepared to generate the intensity required to shock the music industry.
