Artist description
Frank Burrows is a gifted singer/composer/multi-instrumentalist who has performed with Carlos Santana, Narada Michael Walden and a host of others who also won't return his calls. Born in N.Y. and raised in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, Frank's earliest and most profound musical influences were an interesting amalgam of rock, classical (via his mother's piano playing) and musical scores of films of the 1930s and 40s. He started playing guitar at the age of eleven, developing rapidly on the instrument and ultimately becoming fluent in many improvisational styles. This talent, when combined with a token, will gain him access to any NYC subway.n him access to any NY subway. While his musical journey has led him to work in different musical genres, his primary passion and focus has remained on his own rock/pop songwriting. Stylistically, Frank combines the modern, unmarketable sensibility of songwriters like Elliot Smith with echoes of groups like Crowded House, Squeeze and Jellyfish. |
