I guess I would have to say King, Faulkner, and Carver. At least, I'd like to think that some of their good qualities come through in my writing, although I don't come close to Carver's minimalism. |

Artist History
I've been writing stories all my life; the first one I remember is "The Haunted Museum", which I wrote in fourth grade. It won "Best Horror Story" from my teacher, Mrs. Borgman. ;-) After enduring several experimental phases in my writing, including poetry and minimalism (which is where the Carver influence appears), I wrote a story in 1997 called "What Price Fame?" It ran about 70 manuscript pages and took me a summer to write. The exhilaration of completing it seemed unbeatable. The following January, I began my novel, entitled Burning Moon. I finished it in November of 1998; it topped out at about 500 pages. I have since finished two more drafts of Burning Moon and written several shorter stories in an attempt to submit them to periodicals and make a name for myself as a writer of short fiction. Unfortunately, most of the stories are a bit long for publication, so I have yet to even submit them. The stories available here are those short stories, read aloud. Enjoy them. |
