Artist History
Paul Sadot (Tijolo) was one of the first people in Britain to study capoeira when it arrived here in the 80s. Under the constant supervision and training of London School of capoeira founders, Master Silvia Bazarelli and Contra-Mestre Marcus Dos Santos, he went on to become one of the first qualified instructors in this country. He was also a founding member of the stunning Passo A Passo company, the only company in Europe to use Capoeira as a basis for theatre, enjoying success at the Edinburgh festival and throughout Britain. In October 1997 he established his own school under the banner of CAPOEIRA NORTE,which literally translates as Capoeira North. The school is based in Manchester in addition to running regular weekly classes it has now been integrated as part of the Manchester University theatre studies course and also holds regular classes in Leeds and Birmingham. |
