Artist History
Violinist Tyler Reilly was born in Olympia, Washington. At the age of eight, he began his music studies with Helen Pagels, and by the age of 12, had performed recitals throughout Europe. As a teenager he participated in the Encore Summer Music Festival and spent his senior year of high school studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he won the position of concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra's Youth Orchestra. He went on to study with James Oliver Buswell IV at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and performed in the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Italy. Presently, Mr. Reilly is a freelance musician in the Seattle area and first violinist in the Northwest Sinfonietta chamber orchestra. Recently, Mr. Reilly has performed live with such acts as the Moody Blues, Rickie Lee Jones, Modest Mouse, Sarah Brightman, Bill Lenker, the Seattle Choral Company, and other musically diverse groups. Reilly's recording projects have included with the now critically acclaimed Epic recording artists Modest Mouse, the Walkabouts, Lithuanian concert pianist Povilas Stravinsky, Mp3.com's #1 classical chamber ensemble Trio con Brio, the vocal comedy renderings of the Washingtonians, and many others. As a studio orchestral musician, Tyler has also had the experience of working with top film industry icons such as Elmer Bernstein in Edward Norton's recent movie Keeping the Faith, and most recently with director Robert Townsend's Showtime movie Hoiday Heart, which is being produced by Robert Deniro and is due for release in 2001. Reilly has worked on many ad campaigns including a Sun Microsystems segment which ran during the 2000 Super Bowl. From these experiences, Tyler Reilly has achieved a unique and wide-ranging perspective on the creative processes involved in music production. Coupled with his extensive history and theoretical training at the conservatory level, Mr. Reilly is truly an all-around musician specializing in violin performance and recording. |
