Artist description
Planeside, was born from the smoldering ashes of Joni's Butterfly. Their music embodies influences from many genres, and the live show will slap you in the face like a freight train conductor on acid. There has not been a three-piece ensemble that has worked so well together since Jack, Crissy, and Janet. Planeside has played venues from Maine to Illinois, and as far south as Washington DC in their short existence. They also managed to record a self-titled ep & split 7". In this short time, Planeside has developed a strong following and continue to do so with every show played. No matter what your mood may be, Planeside can provide you with the soundtrack. Songs such as Postcards will send you into your room misty-eyed calling your ex-girlfriend. If you just want to rock out, give a listen to Tulips. Let's not forget the controversial Overneath that will make you want to mutilate your mom's collection of Vogue. ------Biography written by Steve THE BASTARD Babyak |

Group Members
Craig Sala- Drummer. Don't worry, it's not an army of Sherman tanks, it's Craig - pounding on the skins.Ken Hirasaki- Bass. Watch him pound the strings like Jackie Chan pounds on the bad guys.Dave Harris- Guitars and Throat. Finishing this small, yet addictive arsenal. His guitar and vocal combination add to the driving force of the Planeside experience... as do his heartfelt lyrics |

Press Reviews
Planeside consists of three members from Providence, RI.,Boston,MA., and New York. Anyone familiar with Joni's Butterfly may recognize the drummer Craig Sala and bassist Ken Hirasaki who played in that band and opened for national acts such as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Orange 9mm, Fishbone, and others. They joined singer/guitarist Dave Harris who was a roadie untill the band formed in 1999. This background only makes sense, as their sound does not sound amateurish in any way. They begin with a simple rhythm, then add lyrics like "I've been seeing the other side of you/ the more I've tried not to/ call it even/ call it anything/ call it surrendering." I especially like the second song, "Postcards," about wanting to go back. It starts soft and nice, then with an undeniable urgency it forces the listener to pay attention and sympathize.(Boston Soundcheck Magazine, July 00') |
