    Artist description
Pat Hair is a guitarist, producer, and singer/songwriter who is considered to be a country and rock "expressionist". No, that doesn't mean he just screams out of tune into the microphone about trucks, drinkin', mountains, and women. More accurately, he weaves different elements of the various styles of music and expression into one song or one album. Using all the tools of country, western swing, blues, rock, classical, jazz, and of course folk, he paints a moody landscape based on his observations, experiences, dreams, fears, and fantasies. Sort of Todd Rundgren on rye with melted cheese burnt around the edges with chocolate morsels on the side. At this point in time, Pat Hair is a "studio project" working with the gifted pianist Maureen and singer/songwriters Paolo Weatherbee and Dave Hopkins from the band Headless Human Clones.

    Artist History
Pat Hair, Dave Hopkins, and Paolo Weatherbee first made music together in the mid-late 1970s, whereupon Paolo left to serve in the military. Pat and Dave continued to play music and began writing their own material around 1977, some of which was recorded at Pat's first analog studio. In 1983, Dave left New Jersey for the Pacific Northwest where he remains at this time. After a time battling illness and poverty- caused in part by his illness, Pat re-emerged as a guitarist in 1990 and lived in the Seattle area for a short period. In 1994, back in New Jersey, Pat, and his wife Maureen, hooked up with Paolo Weatherbee when he had come back to his old hometown to record some alternative rock and country on digital tape. Some of these recordings are available on an earlier, inferior sound quality CD, due to the use of much instrumental sequencing on outmoded sound modules. In 1996 Paolo returned to Portland, Oregon, where he hooked up with Dave Hopkins to form Headless Human Clones where he continues now. (See their mp3 CD) At this point Pat, with Maureen, and some timely tracks sent via mail by Dave Hopkins, began working on a 2nd studio project in 1999. This time, using a multi-track digital system with tube pre-amps and processors. At 41, Pat has been playing guitar since 2nd or 3rd grade and playing around with recording since the 9th grade even though he has only a small volume of musical output. This is explained by the fact that as a virtuosic guitar player, he has spent much of his time playing and soloing on "other peoples' music" while only writing originals sporadically. He also has written quite a number of classical music pieces including 2 movements of a symphony with a third all but written out. Pat and Dave both went to college for music, but in the interim, Pat has spent (as many others have) much time working for others in non-musical jobs and raising a family. This is the reason for such a low output of material from him which Pat hopes to increase in the future as he does music more and more full time.
