Artist description Guitavio started out as a folk-band in the irish-scottish tradition. But soon we started to introduce various musical styles into the set-lists, according to the musical background of the band-members. So rock, pop, and even jazz and classical influences can be heard. For a certain period we enjoyed transforming songs from rock or classical music to folk and vice versa. But in the last years our own compositions became the centre of our interest. You can still sense the folk-roots but today Guitavio is more pop-oriented (or whatever...)

Artist History Guitavio exists since 1989. It started as a duo with guitar and violin - hence the name. In the same year it was augemented with a singer and a keyboardist. Soon there was recognition by the media and even some prices were won. Guitavio has undergone some changes since then, most notably the replacement of the first singer, Claudia Hoff by Coretta Stabenow in 1995. Though some may regret the loss of the 'old members' with the 'newcomers' Guitavio always managed to reach higher levels and find a a new and fresher approach to the music.
