Artist History Cashmere is from the "boogie-down" Bronx and has been rhyming forover 16 years. He was first enticed to hip-hop after hearing the famed battlebetween Kool Moe Dee and Busy Bee. That was the beginning of a monster andCashmere quickly learned about the raw roots of hip-hop. Coming from an agewhen if you battled and lost, you got "beat-down", Cashmere quickly honed hisskills. Soon he became an underground legend in the Fordham section of TheBronx where he was raised and began performing at local block and house parties.This exposed him to the dirtier side of life, where Cashmere got involved in thedaily activities of the street. However, he never lost his love for hip-hop andthe street life only helped to create a more frank and candid artist. Soon,others in the profession discovered his talent and Cashmere has had theopportunity to perform at clubs across New York City, such as S.O.B.s, Nells,The Palladium, and Essos. During the winter of '94, Cashmere hosted a talentshowcase aptly called "FLOW", that has spawned artists Smooth the Hustler, QueenPen, and Foxxy Brown. For 12 weeks Cashmere electrified audiences with his highenergy performances and on several occasions embarrassed challengers from thecrowd. His talent is unequaled on the stage and live is definitely his platformof choice. His ability to control any crowd and flow impeccably to any beat isastonishing and a joy to witness.
