Artist History
Withering Soul was born in the year 2000 AD by two experienced brothers looking to establish a sonic force beyond any style that has been previously presented to the US metal scene. The music is a dark display of raw emotion, beauty, and atmosphere, fused by explosive bursts of brutality. Because of a worldwide range of influences, the style of Withering Soul tends to combine the impulsive melodic harmonies of European metal, with the riff-heavy catchiness of American metal. Press Reviews
***(2002)"...Fans of MDB, Anathema, old Paradise Lost should definitely sit up for this one, along with perhaps those who have a liking for the moods of Opeth...Withering Soul have a good grasp of dynamics in music, and when they get the production they deserve, will deliver a magnificent record."-PAUL TANGAROA, RAW NERVE PROMOTIONS(UK) ***(2000)"Misplaced misfits I believe...left to their own demise creating some the most interesting grooves I have yet to hear thus far...'Brothers, let the bloodletting begin!' Soundscapes abound here. Lush and demonic verbs, insanely distorted guitar passages, and a complete disregard for 'traditional' drum programming...have tremendous potential...will soon be a formidable force to be reconed with..."- DR.SCYTHE ***(2000)"...Dark Metal with black and thick-as-pitch vocals. Keyboards emulate the ghoulish histrionics of Emperor while the rest of the instruments are hoary with Celtic Frost."-Chad, LISTEN.CO |
