Artist History
SiMent formed initially as a 3-piece (note: we were not a "power-trio") in the fall of 1995. After learning how to play their instruments, they recruited a singer. She left, so instead we got another guitarist, and Dave learned how to sing. Suddenly, SiMent starting writing songs that were "melodic", as in "containing aspects of melody." Astounded at their discovery, they started playing out more frequently, and wrote more of these so-called "melodic" songs. While having fun and playing their brand of rock on stage, SiMent gathered "fans" who like to see them play. These fans produce a beautiful, gentle breeze while SiMent plays on stage, for it is often very warm. SiMent continues their quest to dominate the local pop-rock scene. Which is going rather well, since that scene doesn't really exist. |

Press Reviews
"SiMent plays straightforward, cute rock that replaces irony with honest silliness." - Drew Bayers, New Haven Advocate"Imagine if Blink 182 had talent, creativity, a good overall sound, and wrote really funny songs -- you'd have SiMent. Songs about porn stars and relationships gone usunder. I'm so glad i stuck around for them. Great live show that included intricate body movements along with some kick ass power chord hooks." - Kevin Lamkins, U of Hartford DJ "SiMent replaces the fondness I once had for Arthur Fonzarelli." - Brian Felouzis |
