Artist History
"Oneiroi began in Reed College's band practice room, with walls covered in autobiographical grafitti, flickering overhead fluorescents, and a tiny amplifier festooned with a pink bunny... "At first, it was a few jam sessions for thrash/fusion drummer Dylan Burns and rhythm guitarist Jason Bowers, a black-metal diehard. The jams became a focused project when Colin Marshall brought a Florida death-metal savagery to vocals and bass, and Russell Hanson completed the group with a lead guitar tinged with neo-classical influences. "Oneiroi has no purpose but to create music that is a homage to the intensity of black metal, while fusing it with other heavy styles and perhaps creating something a little different. The perseverance those goals entailed bore its first fruit on May 2 of 2000 in the collection of songs titled, 'Apocryhon.' "There is much, much more to come...." |
