Artist History Trained in the old school tradition of “ram dance” made popular by artists like Yellowman and Super Cat, DJ Collage has reached audiences throughout the US, Canada, Japan and Europe via stage shows, dubplates and guest recording spots fusing urban American musical styles with Reggae dancehall lyrics. He started his musical career at a club on Chicago’s north side called: “The Wild Hare”. (formerly owned by Rita Marley) There he had the opportunity to share the stage with pure Jamaican bands both of local and international fame. He has shared the stage with artists such as Yellowman, Nicodemus, Ras Michael, The Heptones, Daddy U-Roy, Born Jamericans and Messenjah. And in 1994 he scored two top ten hit singles. One with the reggae soundsystem/band Positive Sound Massive titled: “Unity” and the other with the dance/breakbeat crew Dubtribe titled: “Mother Earth”. In late 1996 he setup his Masse-One Records label/production company and started building his own dancehall and hip-hop riddims. His new CD ep titled ”Uptown/Downtown” is another step in connecting a musical bridge between “yard and foreign”.
