Artist History
About Charlotte:In Seattle, Charlotte has performed at many folk music venues, such as the Hopvine and the Two Bells Tavern. Last year marked her first festival appearance at Hempfest '99. This summer she looks forward to performing at Hempfest 2000, and her debut at Seattle's Fremont Fair. In 1999, she was chosen for the Hopvine's "Best of Songwriters' Showcase" and in 1998 she tied for first place in the Pike Place Market Street Performer's Competition at Lowell's Cafe. She has also made a number of live radio appearances including CHRW in London, Canada and KCWU in Ellensberg, WA.Originally a modern and ballet dancer, Charlotte studied dance with many respected members of the dance community in her home country, Canada, her primary teacher being a former soloist of the famed "Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal", Constantine Darling. In 1994, she co-founded a grassroots troupe entitled "Stone Soup Dance Collective" in Vancouver, Canada, and won critical acclaim for her original choreography.Charlotte switched her main artistic focus from dance to music due to a back injury, and now makes her home in Seattle. She has organized and enjoyed two tours of the United States, visiting coffeehouses and taverns in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.Charlotte is currently studying classical voice and blues guitar technique.
