Artist History
Formerly AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, the band was started in the suburban garages of the San Francisco Bay Area by guitarist/lead vocalist Anthony Buhagiar and drummer Jerry Rivera. After a few jumpstarts, the lineup was completed by the addition of bassist/vocalist Dave Vasquez. CANYON CREEP spent the next year writing and performing their brand of high-energy rock and roll to packed crowds around the bay area. CANYON CREEP began the new millennium by recording a new album entitled, 'Hijack the World!'. Produced and Engineered by Billy Anderson, who has recorded such acts as Sleep, The Melvins, Mr. Bungle, High on Fire, and Orange Goblin to name a few. The album features CANYON CREEP in their purest form: Heavy, Raw, and Loud. |

Press Reviews
Nathan Hiller - Gods of Metal/Brother Issak Records: Well what can I say about these guys. I am a long time fan of Canyon Creep. Many of you have either listened or you purchased the Gods of Metal Compilation, Ferocity, so most of you have heard Canyon Creep's song 'Hijack the World'. Well if you thought that was a good song, then in the immortal words, 'You've Got Another Thing Coming'.
Canyon Creep has proved to the world that Dark, Powerful Grooves still mesh in the modern world of Hard Rock/Metal. Anthony (Tony) Buhagiar has a style all his own in the Vocal Arena as well as an outstanding flair for the Guitar, backing Tony on Bass we find Dave V. This man can pound out a hell of a rhythm on his four string. Bringing out the heavyset thunderous backbone of this trio we find Jerry Rivera.
I have never had the chance to see these guys yet, but I can only imagine the energy these guys take with them to the stage. What I'm trying to tell you people is GET THIS CD, PLAY IT LOUD, AND BE PREPARED TO OFFEND YOUR NEIGHBER'S EARS WITH PURE ROCK 'n' ROLL. ****** Scott Myers - CustomHeavy.com: The new disc from CA's Canyon Creep is quite a rocking little disc. It never hurts to have a "name" on your disc
so "Hijack" was engineered and mixed by Billy Anderson (The Melvin's, Mr. Bungle, Sleep, High on Fire). This trio of Anthony Buhagiar on guitar and lead vocals, Dave Vasquez on bass and vocals, and Jerry Rivera on drums ad vocals have put out a rocking piece of work here. Anthony's vocals really remind me of a cross between Anthrax's John Bush and a better version of Zakk Wylde mixed together. All the guitar
work is cool, the disc definitely has a classic rock feel to it, and the opening sample from the movie "Suburbia" is funny. I could sit and talk all day about it but if you like your rock 'n roll a little dirty and with a lot of groove go check out their MP3s And if you dig that pick up a copy of their disc. All I can say is I dug it. |
