Artist History
For the past 9 years, the Tom Nolan Band has played the Los Angeles scene, appearing at countless clubs, festivals, colleges, and benefits. They have played at the Playboy Jazz Free Festivals, the Taste of Orange County, Santa Monica Pier Concert Series, LA a la carte, the Park City Jazz festival, the Santa Barbara Jazz festival and countless other shows. Tom and the band have shared the stage with Rick Braun, Boney James, Branford Marsalis, Tom Scott, Ry Cooder, Gino Delafose, The Young Dubliners, Poncho Sanchez, The Gap Band and many others. The band plays a wide variety of music, from classic soul to their own memorable originals. TNB has released two independent CD's and has a third scheduled for the summer of 2000. The first is a collection of ten songs, all written by Nolan, and is titled "Don't Wanna Die Working". In the second, "Everyday Hero", David Hoyt shares in the songwriting credits. Both are released on independent label, Workin'man Records ( Is there a theme here?). The newest collection is tentatively titled "Party in a Box", after a comment made by Park City Jazz producer Barb Clark, and definitely features the band best work to date.TNB is a grass roots effort that has taken hold. It started in a garage, was cultivated in the clubs, and has moved on to the festival stage. They have entertained tens of thousands of people and have always left their audiences happy. Keep your eye on this band. They are making their mark on the American music scene. |
