Artist description
Chaotic melodies and deeply emotional ferocity intricately designed to both wrench your soul and shatter your eardrums. A musical revolution of style and structure, tearing down the invisible boundaries once firmly planted by critics to define genre and judge marketability, S-I bring true creativity and individuality back to the world in the form of "DetroitChaos." Created as a means of emotional release, the S-I experience is calming and agitating, healing and enraging. The deeply personal lyrics and spine-tingling vocals of Steven Johnson, whose message can be identified with by anyone who has ever suffered any type of depression, frustration, or rage at the hands of society, combined with the primal drumming of Justin Cauble, the in-your-face rhythms of bassist Josh Gold, and the intricate power and artistry of guitarist Jason Tountas melds together beautifully as a truly memorable and life-altering experience. With such diverse influences as Fear Factory, Metallica, Skinny Puppy, Slayer, Sevendust, Tool, Pantera, Faith No More, Deftones, and countless others, the music of S-I will appeal to anyone who enjoys true talent and meaning in the emotionally devoid world of popular music. The raw energy produced on stage has resulted in S-I redefining the term "live show". Detroit is the future of hardcore ... and Self-inflicteD is leading the way. |
