Artist History
Luxocrush was formed in 1993 in San Francisco by Keith St. Thomas (songwriting, guitars and vocals), with Ginna Macaraeg on bass, and Johnny Graziadei on drums. In 1996 the band released their first album for Sesha Press, SUPER MODIFIED. The album was recorded at the House of Faith in Oakland California, by the institution that is Bart Thurber. The album contains four studio tracks and two songs from a live performance recorded at the The Edge in Palo Alto in January 1996. The second album, SLEEPERHOLD, was release in 1997. It is an intense and dark album, filled with violent imagery and violent emotions. These songs are dark and menacing, but they are also songs of exquisite beauty and have a melodic resonance that is rare. The latest release, HIGHER THAN TEN HIPPIES, released in 1999, is an album dedicated to a pure rock and roll ethic, openly contemptuous of all things sacred and serious. It is nothing less than fuck rock.Luxocrush have played live shows from Seattle to Los Angeles, but they call the San Francisco Bay Area their home. The year looks to be filled with shows, new recordings, and more than a few trips to Vegas. |

Press Reviews
"LuxoCrush are sort of a more sinister version of Nirvana. It's atmospheric, moody stuff, rife with angst, distortion, mumbled lyrics, all that other Cobainia, but it has a brighter, more accessible quality than much of what's currently out there"-BAM Magazine |
