Artist History SLUDGE was born in 1994, with the wish of doing some very heavy and dark stuff.We recorded our first EP"Sweet Daisy" with Tomas Skogsberg (ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, GRAVE, TIAMAT, HELLACOPTERS,...)in 1996 and we released it worldwide through Godhead Records (Acrimony).Then we went back to the Sunlight Studios in the end of 1997 to record a LP album "The Well", which was only distributed in France and in Switzerland due to several financial problems with our former company.After that, we have made a full swiss tour. the band played some cool supporting acts for bands like: ENTOMBED, CATHEDRAL, CROWBAR, MACHINE HEAD, TESTAMENT, DIE KRUPPS, ANATHEMA, STUCK MOJO,FU MANCHU, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, SAMAEL, MARY BEATS JANE, MEDULLA NOCTE, TRANSPORT LEAGUE, KRABATHOR, 2TON PREDATOR,...then came o last album: "SCARECROW MESSIAH".As we wanted to reproduce the way we sound "live", we recorded these 8 songs by ourselves in our rehearsal-room at the end of 1999 and did the mix in Sweden with Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, THE HAUNTED, IN FLAMES, FLESHCRAWL, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, AT THE GATES, HAMMERFALL,...)at the Fredman Studios (Gothenburg)in January 2000.The result was intense, wild and dark. The "nice and slightly gothic" melodies we were used to were now bewitching and depraved but it still sounds like SLUDGE...and a little bit like the original soundtrack of an horror movie!. Some well-known artists such as Lee Dorian (CATHEDRAL) and XY (SAMAEL) discovered our band with interest. A video of the song "SCARECROW MESSIAH" produced by Rinaldo Marasco (The Young Gods) was made and is now available thru mailorder, for more info send an e-mail to sludge66@hotmail.com. SLUDGE has made a full and succesfull european tour with CROWBAR in may/june 2001. The band is actually working on a new album which will be probably released this year...
