Artist description
Lonesome Rex is a 7 piece multi instrumental, multi vocalistband playing primarily in pubs, clubs, CM Festivals and private functionsin the southern state of Australia, Victoria. The 5 songwriters in the band grew up with the radio sound of American country music - a background to our lives. While our sound is influenced by this early absorbtion, most of our original songs deal with destinctlyAustralian themes and metaphors. And then occasionally we let loose and just play anything. |

Artist History
The band formed in 1989 with four members who had played together in the late 70'sin a country band called 'Aces Wild' and playing mostly around the Gippsland area ofsouthern Australia. After straying a little from the CM trail in the 80's,exploring other musical forms in a band called 'Laminex Rex', we decided to get backto the music we loved most. Laminex Rex became LONESOME REX.Our lead guitar player soon joined and a number of drummers and bass players ( all from various R&R and R&B bands in the area),leading to our current 7 piece line-up. |
