    Artist History
FALLACY started on November '94, in Lisbon, with a line-up which included ex-members from thrash metal act Lakrau (João Alves -vocals; João Paulo - guitar; João André - bass) and ex-Sacred Sin (Jorge Gonçalves - drums). Their first music compositions presented adeath thrash metal well laboured rhythmically which showed a recognisable melange of influences from diversified styles and sonorities. The band started to play live few weeks after their union. The audiences successfully approved the bands first live performances, that factencouraged FALLACY to record their first demo. The self-entitled release had 4 original tracks: "Killer Race"; "Godman"; "Filthy Hole" and"Blind in Grey". During the promotion of their debut demo, FALLACY had the chance to play live with important Portuguese metal acts such as:Thormenthor, Bizarra Locomotiva, Moonspell and Hate Over Grown. In late '95 the guys decided it was time to record another demo thatcould show some improvements in FALLACY's creative personality. Their debut work had received good reviews in the underground andgave 'em good credit to go on. The band hit the studio in February '96, now with Ricardo on vocals. "A Path"; "Cold Steam"; "Dichothomy" and "Fresh Vanity" were therecorded tracks. They presented a step forward in their innovative metal style. The '96 promo had a diversified death metal base whichincluded fusion and progressive topics. Various progressive metal bands (such as Pestilence, Cynic and Meshuggah) had always inspiredthe band in the process of composition. During the same year it was recorded a video clip of the song "A Path". With the new work FALLACY accomplished an important victory on an Iberic music contest which take place in Vigo (Spain) during18/08/96. After a long time of absence the band returns in 1999 with a some line-up and music changes. New band members Nuno Jesus (bass)and Luís Candeias (drums) joined João Paulo (guitar). Nowadays the band stands as an instrumental act that performs fusion metal. FALLACY presents a new work entitled "Martírios", a homage to Portuguese traditional music and sounds particularly from non-littoralregions which reflect the hard day life and the poverty of communities who created and spread them. The bands musical maturity is undeniable. The base ideas of FALLACY trio (guitar-bass-drums) were enriched by additional experiencedmusicians such has: João André (contra-bass, bass guitar, synthesiser, mixes), Rui Vasconcelos (keyboards), Gonçalo Lopes (clarinet),Micz (ex-Blasted Mechanism; virtual drum), Gui (Xutos & Pontapés; tenor and barytone sax) and Nuno Leão (samples).

    Press Reviews
Icontomb Magazine (Por) Spring 2000 #1 Comment: This is the second demo of Fallacy, now with some significant changes, to start they left behind the vocals ala death metal, used on their previous work, in fact currently their music it's almost instrumental, progressive, experimental and technical, remingind mesometimes a bit of Cynic and Sadist. They use several instruments such as clarinet, sax... I must agree with their manager, when hesays that the fourth track is perhaps the most metal one, he said also for we don't pay much attention to the last track since it haven'tmuch things to do with the rest of the demo. Curiosly these two tracks are my favourites. Anyway isn't my preferred style for sure, but it worth's for the band's effort doing such work... it comes with a cool cover. As if that wasn't enough, in "Martírios" they decided to take some Portuguese folklore and used it all over the songs. Fallacy." 9/10
