Artist History
I live in Central Oregon, USA. Which happens to be the sunny part of Oregon. I'm a full time working performer/musician/songwriter. My music has an early 70's European feel and sometimes slightly psychedelic. My acoustic CD “Dean Prescott” has been called “acoustic pop songs with a twist”. On my albums I play and sing all the songs except when I have a special guest. In production I like a lot of "color" and to layer and orchestrate the songs with guitars and vocals. A set of headphones might help you hear some hidden jewels in the mix. On the radio In June 2002 I did a 35 minute interview and played songs from “Wallpaper Music" on a local FM radio station. The title cut and “Believer” are still being played. In early 2001 my song "Looking Thru Windows" went to #15 on the international acoustic charts at mp3.com and two other songs are on compilation albums in the U.K. and Germany. I have been to Europe many times and across the U.S. and have an undying love for travel. I am a local music producer and play more than 100 live dates a year with the band "The Substitutes” as well as solo dates. In March 2003 the song "Believer" (the opening track on "Wallaper Music") has been included on the compilation CD from KLRR FM in Bend called "Local Music Jam Volume 2" Available at record stores in the Central Oregon area. I am working on a new (very intimate) album which should be out in late 2003.
