    Artist History
We started out doing all of our songs using only the computer. All of the songs on our first CD, "The Source" are generated using Cakewalk and Acid Music 2.0. Currently, we are generally using a Yamaha CS1X with Acid Music. Music is so fun. Travis Phillippi is now sort of "officially" out of the group, so now it's just me, Danny Adler. No hard feelings; there wasn't any conflict in our split-up, just kind of a tell-tale lack of any recent contribution on Travis' part and the fact that we're both off at different colleges. So, just me now, and I'm gonna keep on going!

    Press Reviews
Review of "Blue Horizon": The tracks starts out immediately without hesitation. Nicely flowing beat, not very hard-hitting though. The strings in the background create a trancey athmosphere. Good after-hours song, created perfectly in the paul Van Dyke style. Rating: 8 out of 10 Reviewed by DJ Sky (From http://djsky.pngusa.net/planet3.html) --------------------------------- Review of "Mindlights": Euro-Techno style of Planet 3 will definately make you move your ass. This track has a lot of high-toned synths and sounds a bit old-scholish (think 90s trance). Rating: 7.5 out of 10. Reviewed by DJ Sky ------------------------------------- Review of "Forgotten Daze" from OCRemix (http://remix.overclocked.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00843) Our first ReMix from the first Genso Suikoden comes from newcomer Planet3. I just have to quote Judge Pizza's comments on this one: "I'm sitting here listening to this while I'm reading the December issue of Playboy's interview with Denzel Washington (he seems like a normal guy save for the $20M salary). It's just in the background, not to shabby, ya know? Then all of the sudden my concentration is lost on the article at around 3:42. The beatdrop caught my attention and drove me away from what I was reading. Before it was an alright mix, you know? I'd have said yeah, but now I'm going to definitely say yes. Why? Because that instance right there broke things up. Techno songs are generally long and repetitive, so when you go in knowing the song is techno you prepare yourself for such. You say, "instead of bitching cuz it's repetitive, I understand that this genre is structured that way so I'll see how the song fits together as a whole." Well the introduction of the piano at 3:11 helped to break some of the ice, but the breakbeats totally shattered it for me and MADE me really listen to the rest of the song." I don't usually quote that much from the judges but I liked the tone of that comment and feel it addresses this mix well. This is technotrance with enough touches here and there to pull you in. Like the synchronized hi-hat and synth patterns emphasized in the intro with a nice effected synth lead over top, a killer break section at around 3'00" with ambient bird sounds and delayed piano and koto, and workin' drums throughout (love dem slick kick rolls) - PLUS, for all you out there who have been SCREAMING for a track that features an ending with monkey noises (I get emails daily, man), your ship has finally come in, as Planet3 ends the opus with some primate yelps that somehow fit in with everything else, don't ask me how. With the breakbeats, piano, jungle sounds, etc. added to an already clearly competent techno ReMix, this one goes those couple steps above and beyond. Recommended. - djpretzel
