Artist description
No woman has ever captured metal's intensity
with the authority of MANCAIN's Mariam. She
compleats the raging quartet with her sensual-
to-sonic vocals to break through with an honesty
not yet acheived by any female. MANCAIN's time is
NOW. |

Artist History
In June of 1999, four friends got together to re-
cord a project for music school. Quickly, a vibe
was created, racket was made, and the future
of heavy, melodic music was born. After cutting
their teeth on local gigs (including opening for
Alice Cooper on the "Brutal Planet" tour in Walling-
ford CT), MANCAIN shifted personnel (original
drummer Rich Sancho left in December 2000)
and brought new skinsmith Dale "81" Harper into
the mix. MANCAIN's first LP, "Against The Grain"
was recorded in June/July 2001 and released in
January 2002. Available through www.MANCAIN.com,
at Newbury Comics and CD Spins in the
Boston, MA area, and Empire Discs in Long Island,
NY, the 10-track disc finally brings the punishing
intensity of a live MANCAIN show into the homes
and heads of anyone with a mere $13.
MANCAIN plans a summer tour stretching from
the Northeast to the Twin Cities of MN.

Press Reviews
I saw this band at Bill's Bar. The room was fairly packed, but from the action on stage, you would have thought they were playing for thousands. They were terrifying. The drummer was locked in with the band like they were siamese twins, and the guitarist and bassist stormed the stage like it had wronged their whole family tree. And in the center of all this turmoil, little Mariam bopped around shyly, belching punishment upon the audience, who was trying not to stare at her breasts. She was vicious, but warm---a dangerous contrast to the battle-stance antics of the rest of the bands. This band will crush the Ozz-fest bands if they don't destroy themselves first. Find them. |
