Press Reviews
A demo tape from Ref, the other main review contributor of 'Beyond The Wall Of Sleep'. The music of Lidane Livering is noisy and heavy, momentarily chaotic, but in a structured way. There are a lot of facets to the material, both soothing and relaxing, as well as harsh and relentless at times. Some of the tunes make me think of old abandoned factories where the ghosts of the machines dance and howl in a macabre dance, propelling their way into oblivion. I consider 'Fragments Vol. 1' to be something along the lines of a soundtrack to the darkest depths of the human soul, the obscure recesses in which the dreaming dead dwell and chant their hymns to oblivion. But as some parts are ambient in their core, there are also rhythmic, throbbing tracks that shakes your brain awake from a deep slumber, mesmerizing the lucid dreamer and painting up a landscape of post-apocalyptic underground caves. There are really more sides to these fragments than I can describe, and it takes a few listens to get into it, but nevertheless, it's good! 7 out of 10 http://www.sdf.se/~nny/wallofsleep/index2.html |
