Artist History
A native St. Louisan, Kate Jewell relocated to Chicago in 1993. Exposure performing in underground clubs led to stints as a back-up singer and dancer opening for acts including the Fugees, Jocelyn Enriquez and La Bouche. Urged to pursue her own musical vision Kate sought the help of producer Dave Conner, a friend and programmer for Jay Z, R. Kelly, and Kelly Price. Kate's solid songwriting melded perfectly with Dave's open-minded compositional bent and his desire to escape R&B bore-doom. |
