Artist History
In 1993 Bruce "Thief In Da Nite" Waynne, armed with
his verbally elite twin brother Debo Diamaggio and
contagious next door neighbor Screwface from Haiti,
focused their creative and innovative vocal styles
on the rap industry. The Brooklyn, East New York
three-O, had no idea about the ride they were on
nor the passengers they would pick up along the way.
In '94 while visiting a friend's mother, Thief was introduced
to the newest and youngest member of his dream team.
This up and coming member's energy, willingness to learn, and loyalty were the basis for his membership. In the years to come this man's fire and explosive voice would make him one of the sharpest members of the ENY team: Chris Styles.
During this period, Thief's solo career ignited as he released his first single "Tell me how you want it (wit butta)" B/S "Who, What?" featuring the Dungeon Debo and Screwface. Thief also put out a video for the single which received love from the one time #1 underground video show Video Music Box.
Theif and the Dungeon had an underground smash hit on thier hands even though they lacked sufficent backing and were still new to the industry.
At the end of '94, Styles introduced Thief to the group's most unique, lyrical, and poetic member: Crow. Theif calls him Scarecrow. Crow's sharp wit and intelligent writing skills made him the ideal watchman for this growing family.
In the middle of '94, Gunna the marksman and Animal the vocal monster were added to the fam, not only because of their individual verbal talents, but also because of their long standing history with Theif.
In '96 Dungeon released a group single entitled "ENY Uncover" B/S "She," which featured every member of this seven man squad. The single took off. While performing in shows through out NYC, Styles ran into a female artist whose texture made her potential relative in this creative gumbo.
Precious Paris quickly found her place in the group.
In '97, while dealing with Fingers (CEO of Renegade Records), the family added another distant cousin to the roster: Faison the "Eddie Kane of rap." Faison like other members of the group knew Thief a long time before joining the music expedition. Faison's laid back, I don't give a f*ck style made this growing family complete. Dungeon changed its name to Us, representing not only who we are-US, but also informing the world who we are responsible for --US, who we are reflections of --US, and who are the people we can count on --US.
Remember... There can't be an US without a U.
