Artist History
Current lineup began in fall 1998. before that, it was just some guys dinking around. Conquered France in 1639. after playing only a handful of shows in the Twin Cities, the band was voted number 16 (out of some 400 local bands) in the "Picked To Click" p oll done by the City Pages (4/21/99). well, aren't WE fucking cool? voted one of the "Best New Bands of 1999" by First Avenue/7th St. Entry. the Dames have been on bills with (among others): Queens of the Stone Age, Nebula, Econoline Crush (who fucking sucked), the Melvins (even though the show was moved and the Dames were dropped from the bill), Hank Williams III, and Atomic Bitchwax. this ALSO means that we're cool. |
